첨밀밀(甛密密)을 다시 봤다. 여전한 감동..

혹자는 이 영활 홍콩과 중국의 근대사를 살아가는 이들의 삶의 질곡의 역사로 해석하기도 하지만
여전히 나에게 첨밀밀은 순도 100프로의 멜로물이다.

아니, 두번째 봤던 이번이 더더욱 그랬다.
멜로리스한 삶을 사는 내게 이 멜로야 말로 특별한 발견으로 다가왔던 것이다.

가능할 것 같지도 않고, 필요하지도 않고, 유행가 가사 같은 데서 들으면 심지어 짜증나거나 경기를 일으키기도 하는
그것이 애초엔 이렇게 아름다울 수도 있는 거였다는 걸...

사랑.

# Scene 1 : 파티장에서 먹는 장면

표오빠와 함께 사는 이교와 결혼한 여소군이 파티장에서 우연히 만나
서로의 앞접시에 든 음식을 먹으며 엄한 얘기들 하는 장면.

사랑하는 사람을 만났는데, 어디로도 향할 수 없는 마음을 애써 감추어야 하고.
소세지가 끼워진 꼬치를 우걱우걱 집어삼키는 이교의 모습에서 가눌 길 없는 안타까움이 뚝뚝 흘러내린다.
편집 내지는 각본에선 짤렸겠지만, 다음 순간 분명히 그녀는 체했을 것이고.

이 영화에서는 인상적인 장면이 그토록 많은데
영화를 다시 본다고 했을 때, 내 머리 속에 떠올랐던 첫 번째 장면.
난 왜 이 장면이 가장, 그토록 다시 보고 싶었을까?

혹시 나도 언젠가 이래 본 적이 있었던 것일까? 설마...

# Scene 2 : "우린 실패했어"

돌아서서 가는 여소군의 뒷모습을 차안에서 바라보다 핸들 앞에서 푹 고꾸라지는 이교.
빵- 하고 울리는 클랙숀 소리에 여소군은 문득 꿈에서 깬 듯, 뒤돌아서 이교에게 다가오고...
긴 시간 참아왔던 키스에서 늘 함께 했던 327까지..
그리고 고백한다. "우린 실패했어"

"으아아...저런 실패 좀 한 번 해봤으면!!"

정말이지 저런 멋들어진 실패의 모멘트를 내 인생에 가질 수 있다면.

그런데 올지 안 올지도 모르는 저 한순간을 위해 그 많은 안타까움을 견뎌야 한단 말야?
옷. 그건 좀 곤란한데요. (뺀질뺀질)

그러면 끝까지 뺀질거리기라도 하든가....

# Scene 3 : 표오빠와 배타고 떠나는 장면

영화를 같이 보던 룰루 언냐의 단발적인 외침이 가슴에 와서 팍 꽂힌다.
"우린 표오빠를 만나야 해!!"
아..절대 공감.

바로 그 다음 장면, 자신의 부인을 떠나는 여소군 동지의 편지는
더더욱 표오빠의 태도와 비교되며 우리를 가증의 도가니로 몰아넣는다.

요지는 "잘 살기 바래. 그런데 내가 해 줄 건 없어. 나도 힘들어"
에라 이 자식아.
차라리 딴 여자가 좋아서, 널 사랑하지 않아서 떠난다고 스트레이트하게 얘기할 것이지.
말이야 여소군 같은 남자는 백날 만나봤자 아무런 영양가 없어.

표오빤 거리엔 여자가 널렸다고 빨리 나를 떠나라고 하지 않는가.
오..표오빠. 어찌 오빠를 떠날 수 있겠어요.
우린 표오빨 만나야 해.

# Scene 4 : 미키마우스

등을 돌려주세요.

그녀를 웃게 해 주기 위해 새겼던 미키마우스.
그녀는 웃고...어느새 그 웃음은 흐느낌으로 바뀌어, 아름다운 장만옥의 얼굴을 일그러뜨린다.

장만옥의 얼굴이 주는 느낌은 정말 특별하다.
한 때를 풍미했던 다른 매력의 수많은 홍콩 여배우들이 있었지만, 끝까지 서바이벌한 것은 오직 장만옥 뿐이다.

그럴 수 있었던 이유를 장만옥의 표정은 보여준다.

현실적인 얘기를 하려는 영화가 비현실적으로 돌아가면 열받죠. 영화를 일주일에 세 편 이상 보는 사람은.. 또는 "많이"보는 사람은.. 이 영화는 노래 때문에 보게 됐습니다. 한창 뜰 때가 5년도 넘었겠다는 것만 생각나네요. 이 영화는.. 봐야 할 만한 영화라구 생각합니다. 사랑이 지랄하고 뭔지.. 인연이 지잘하고 뭔지.. 그리고 첨밀밀같은 영화는 그랬으면 좋겠고 그럴수도 있겠지만 대체로 그렇지 않고.. 그냥 음악과 장만옥과 여명에게 빠져보는 것 만으로도 가슴이 시큰해지고 울고 웃고.. 그래지는.. 첨밀밀이 뭔 뜻인지 궁금하게 만드는 영화. "달콤해"로 충분히 이해 되시나요.. 이 영화는 보고.. 쉽게 말해 돈 생각 안나는 것.
